VUARNET
An iconic brand offering craftmanship for the very best in eye protection and symbolising sport attitude with French elegance.
Vuarnet is a French eyewear company founded in 1957 with the invention of the Skilynx lens by opticians Roger Pouilloux and Joseph Hatchiguian. In 1960, Jean Vuarnet won the gold medal in downhill skiing at the Winter Olympics in Squaw Valley, California, wearing a pair of sunglasses given to him by Roger Pouilloux. In 1961, an agreement was reached for the company's sunglasses to be marketed under the Vuarnet name, and a great brand was created.
The success of the brand grew over the years, reaching new heights in 1984 when it was chosen as the official sponsor of the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, with its celebrated motto "It's a Vuarnet Day".
Vuarnet remains a benchmark for quality in sunglasses and is famous for its mineral lenses and the unique manufacturing and quality know-how practised at the Vuarnet factory in France, an hour away from Paris.
The partnership between NEO and Vuarnet consists in expanding manufacturing capacity in France and relaunching the brand globally.
